Our beliefs

Our core beliefs are simply a snapshot of our focus.
Anything outside of this is open to discussion over a great cup of coffee… and perhaps some dessert.

We are sure you were created to do something great. People were not created for bad and we look forward to seeing what God is going to do through you.

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. ”

— Ephesians 2:10 NIV

We believe the Gospel of Jesus saves.  It’s in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus that we find the template for salvation through repentance, baptism and the filling of His Spirit. It’s our belief in Jesus and what He’s accomplished for us that we have the power to be his sons and daughters.

We are convinced if you come to know Jesus your life will never be the same. There’s no way you can encounter Him and leave the same way.

We are thankful for the opportunity of repentance for it is not a means of guilt but an invitation to come to God. It’s a change of thinking that causes action to turn from our ways and begin doing things God’s way. (Acts 2:38, Acts 17:30, Romans 2:4)

Baptism is the act of faith that Jesus has washed away our sins. We don’t see our sins floating in the water but it is an act in the body that performs a profound spiritual transaction giving us the power to approach God with a clear conscience.  (1 Peter 3:21).  Baptism is for the remission of sin and to identify with the Jesus. (Acts 2:38; Romans 6:4). And it is the commission of Jesus Christ in making disciples. (Matthew 28:19 )

We believe God’s Spirit has come to dwell in the lives of believers, allowing us to be part of the family of God and overcome sin. The Holy Spirit is a comforter, teacher and keeper to those who have received Him. We rely on the leading of God’s spirit, as believers, to do His will and bless the world around us. We are born again by the baptism of water and the spirit. (John 3:1-5)

Our lives were meant to be lived with passionate purpose. That purpose was put in you by God. Our hope is that you discover your purpose and put it to use for the glory of God, a blessing for others and the empowerment of yourself. (Ephesians 2:10)

We believe Jesus is returning for the church. This great event is the Second coming of Christ and is the hope we look forward to. (John 14:1-4; 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18)
